The Rushford Snowmobile Club is the gateway to Allegany County when traveling south from Arcade. We maintain 45 miles of trail, many through the Hanging Bog Wild Life Management Area. You can find gas and excellent food stops in the Belfast area on trail 2CB.

Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month, beginning in August and running thru April. We rotate meetings between The Rushford Conservation Club and the Oramel Fire Hall. We are offerin free memberships this year to landowners whose property we utilize for snowmobile trails. We will have vouchers available for members at the meetings. Membership is still only $25.00

Meetings begin at 7pm. Meeetings are a great way to meet your fellow club members, and receive the latest information.

Please ride safely and enjoy the scenic trails in the Rushford, Belfast, and Caneadea areas. Please respect our landowners, if not for the generous use of their property we would have no trails. Stay on the trail.

Rushford Snowmobile Club News Letter

Dear Member:

This years riding season is fast approaching!! We would like to update everyone with what’s been happening. First, we would like to welcome all the new members who chose the Rushford Club as their club of choice. Thank you and welcome!! Thank you to all the returning members, who have shown confidence in the club.

Quite a few things have been happening since our last newsletter. Here are the highlights:

The purchase of the new groomer was completed!! A 1996 Trail Boss 110 horse diesel with auto transmission, with a 16 foot long 7 foot wide drag. The machine was delivered on 12/2/2006, and is ready to hit the trails. A few people need to be thanked for their help:

Community Bank, Sandra Tabor Branch Manager Belfast Office and Jim Knapp V.P. in charge of Commercial loans Wellsville Office for providing the funding.

Dye Insurance Cuba, for collision and comprehensive insurance. Thanks Dennis.

R & K Marina for use of their beautiful storage facility at a nominal fee! Thank you Scott.

Thank you to all the members who have worked on the trail in the past, the funding would never have been possible without their hard work.

CLICK SEE THE GROOMER at the www.acfsnow.org photo page. You can also find current weather and trail conditions on the trail conditions link. Please consider using any of the fine companies above for your personal use should the need arise.

We have been bulldozing trails wherever we can get permission and opened quite few areas to allow access for the new groomer. We installed a new bridge and trail to the Conservation Club. We have also been working with the Franklinville Club as well as the Cuba Drift Busters and have installed a new section of trail from the Hanging Bog area up and over Mt. Monroe to meet Franklinville at Rawson Rd. where they will take over. This new section will provide a nice loop from Rushford to Arcade to Franklinville back to Belfast and Caneadea.

With the larger groomer comes responsibility and our Trail Coordinator Dale Beroff has been hard at work putting together a grooming policy to comply with NYS Parks regulations and will present it at our December meeting for review.

Our treasurer Jeff Zawadzki, has resigned his position effective November 2006 due to other obligations. I would like to thank Jeff, for his service of two years as well as his honesty and integrity while treasurer. Jeff has been an active member for years and will continue to help with the upper end of our trail. Thank you Jeff!

Dan Long has agreed to take Jeff’s place as interim treasurer until elections are held in March. Dan has also worked behind the scenes with his bulldozer opening and widening trails and installing the new bridge. It should be pretty obvious where he was when you hit the trails. Hint: Look for ten to twelve foot wide areas that weren’t there before. Super!!

Officers are always available to answer any questions, you will find contact information as well as meeting dates on the web site. Please try to attend a meeting and meet your fellow club members.

FROM MY FAMILY TO YOURS, I WOULD LIKE TO WISH EVERYONE A HAPPY AND JOYOUS HOLIDAY SEASON!!
